Standard 12.Understands the techniques, tools, and technologies related to the production of technical drawings
  Level IV (Grade 9-12)
   1. Understands the various sections of a technical drawing (e.g., title block, revision block)
   2. Understands terminology, types of lines, symbols, notes, and abbreviations used in a technical drawing
   3. Understands the theory of orthographic projection
   4. Understands the rules of dimensioning and tolerancing
   5. Knows the principles of drawing primary and secondary auxiliary views (e.g., inclined surface, skewed surface, normal views)
   6. Understands the use of scales in technical drawings (e.g., architect, metric, civil, and mechanical engineer’s scales)
   7. Understands drawing techniques used in technical illustrations (e.g., shadowing, shading, inking, air brushing, rendering)
   8. Knows procedures for creating geometric constructions (e.g., arcs, angles, bisecting lines, perpendicular and parallel lines, geometric shapes)
   9. Uses computer-aided design methods to construct technical drawings (e.g., operate CAD software, manage data, store and retrieve drawings)
   10. Uses lettering techniques (e.g., freehand, with the aid of instruments) to annotate technical drawings
   11. Understands axonometric and one and two point perspective drawings
   12. Knows methods for constructing object intersections and creating sectional views of objects
   13. Understands methods for creating simple isometric drawings
   14. Understands the elements of design (e.g., color theory, type, size, balance)
   15. Uses equipment required for drafting and design (e.g., T-square, protractor, ruler, drawing instrument, triangles, compass)
